For youth who need some extra guidance in making healthy decisions, Botvin LifeSkills is an evidence-based curriculum for middle and high school-aged youth. For youth to age 16, ten one-hour lessons are prescribed. For older teens getting ready to transition to the workforce or secondary education settings, the 6-lesson Botvin Transitions program is prescribed. Both are evidenced to teach healthy decision-making skills, allowing youth to steer clear of violence and substance misuse.
Mixed counseling is nonclinical, skill-building, goal-oriented weekly and confidential counseling. Self-esteem, goal-making, communication skills, healthy choices, and personal strengths are explored within this program. Counseling may be provided in individual, group, or family formats depending on the needs of the client. Services last for 6 months and meet one hour per week.
